Itinerary Details

Best of Seattle’s Landmarks

After your guide picks your group up from either the cruise terminals, any of Seattle’s hotels, or Sea-Tac Airport, we’ll start with Seattle’s most historic landmark: Pike Place Market. Your guide share the Market’s history and steer you to shops and eateries that would interest you.  You’ll have 45 minutes to browse the many stalls for edible delicacies, watch the fishmongers toss their slippery merchandise, visit the “original Starbucks”—and you’ll also learn why this isn’t actually the original!

Maybe our next stop is actually Seattle’s most famous landmark, the Space Needle.  If time permits, take your group to the Observation Deck for outstanding views of the city or visit one of the other attractions located at the Seattle Center, such as the Museum of Pop Culture, the Seattle Children’s Museum, the Chihuly Glass Museum, or the Pacific Science Center.  You’ll have about 45 minutes to explore the venue of your choice.

Views to Remember

We’ll visit Queen Anne Hill, known for its 19th-century homes along with an amazing panoramic view of the city and Elliot Bay below.  In case you didn’t make it up to the Observation Deck at the Space Needle, the view from up here is the next best thing!  On a clear day, you’ll also get a great view of snow-capped Mt. Rainier, a sight cherished by Seattle residents.

Next, we move on to a very unique place, Gas Works Park, located on the North Shore of Lake Union.  This is the perfect spot to see a microcosm of Seattle’s industrial past and its gleaming glass and steel present.  As we contemplate Seattle in the early 20th century, we’ll watch seaplanes taking off and landing and check out Lake Union’s famous houseboat communities.  Fans of Sleepless In Seattle will recognize this as the place where Tom Hanks’ character and his son lived in the movie.

Departing the City

As we depart Seattle, skyscrapers give to towering evergreen trees in the Cascade foothills.  Soon we’ll arrive at the historic town of Snoqualmie, a charming mid-19th-century town perched on the bank of the Snoqualmie River.  Find a casual spot for a quick bite along Snoqualmie’s commercial street opposite the historic railway museum.  For a more upscale dining experience, we always recommend the Salish Lodge’s dining room.

Snoqualmie Falls

Rejuvenated from lunch, we’ll make our way to the picturesque 268-foot Snoqualmie Falls, one of the most popular natural attractions in the State of Washington.  Feel its power as it makes its thunderous plunge into the river below.  Ask your guide to tell you about the world’s first underground power plant, built here in 1899.

Woodinville Wine Tasting

Following the meandering Snoqualmie River and passing over old steel bridges from time to time, our final stop is Woodinville, the scenic home to the greatest concentration of wineries in Washington State.  We’ll stop into one of the area’s top wineries where adults will enjoy a premium wine tasting flight, valued at $25/person, and have a chance to chat with local vintners or explore the winery’s grounds on foot.

Return to Seattle

After soaking up wine aromas amidst lush surroundings, we head back to Seattle.  Your guide will drop you off at any of the following: back to your Seattle hotel, Sea-Tac airport, or the cruise terminal.  If you need to head somewhere else outside of Seattle, just let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Frequently Asked Questions

We’ll be on a cruise ship at Pier 66 or Pier 91.  Do you pick up private groups from the cruise terminals?

Yes, that’s no problem!  This is an ideal option for cruise groups.  We pick up or drop off at Pier 66 and Pier 91.  If you aren’t sure where you’ll be, we can help you figure this out.  Once you make a booking, we’ll discuss your group’s logistics with you.

Which hotels do you pick up from?

We pick up from all hotels, AirBnB’s, and vacation rentals in downtown Seattle and on the East Side in the Bellevue area

We have more than 14 people in our group, what are our options?

Larger groups, please contact us for pricing before making a booking.  Depending on the size of your group, we may accommodate you in multiple vehicles or a single larger coach.

What is this tour’s departure time?

Our standard departure time is 9:00am. As this is a private tour, we can adjust this time as necessary to accommodate your group, but please contact us to confirm availability before booking.

We’re getting onto or off a cruise ship and have a lot of luggage. Can you help us?

Yes!  Combining storage space in the tour vehicle plus an optional additional luggage trailer, we have room about about 20 pieces of “checked bag” size luggage plus assorted small carry-on bags.  We’ve seen a lot of “cruise luggage” and we’ve never run out of space and no one has ever had to sit on their own suitcase!

Can you drop us off at Sea-Tac Airport or a cruise ship after the tour?

Yes, that’s no problem. If you’re just getting off a cruise ship and need a transfer to the airport or to a Seattle hotel, we’d be happy to drop you off where you need to go at no extra charge.

My group is staying in Bellevue or somewhere else on the East Side, can you pick us up here?

Yes, that’s no problem!  When making a booking, be sure to let us know where your group would like to be picked up and we’ll discuss your group’s customized schedule.

What will the weather be like?

Seattle’s weather is really a mixed bag throughout the year.  If the sun is out and we are walking, it can quickly get warm and a t-shirt is comfortable.  If the sun goes behind a cloud and the wind picks up, it can get very chilly.  Winter (November-March) may be in the high 30s to high 40s and is generally wet.  Spring (April-June) and Fall (September-October) temperatures are often in the 50s-60s but can be as high as the 70s or as low as the 40s on certain days with a mix of wet and dry periods.  Summer temperatures (July-August) are generally warm in the 70s-80s, but daily temperature fluctuation is common with early mornings in the 50s and late afternoons warming up to the high 70s to low 80s during a heat wave.  April through September is generally the driest time of year.

What shoes are appropriate?

Please wear shoes that are comfortable to walk in.  Many people find that sneakers are adequate.  If it’s a wet, rainy day, rain boots are advised.

How much walking will we do?

This tour includes opportunities to walk around each of the sites that we visit. The amount of walking you do is up to you.  Your guide will try to get your group as close to the attractions as possible so you can do less walking if you’re tired and have already had a long trip.

Is this trip suitable for older people or those with limited mobility?

These trips often attract families groups with a mix of younger and older folks with varying levels of interest in walking.  Doing a bit of walking will allow you to get the most out of each of the landmarks we visit, but we can adjust the route to accommodate groups with differing levels of mobility.

Is there room for a wheelchair or walker in the tour vehicle?

Yes, we can fit collapsible wheelchairs or walkers into the rear of the tour vehicle.  The tour vehicle is not equipped with a wheelchair lift and 3 steps are required to enter or exit the vehicle.

What if I have another question?

No problem! Just contact us or give us a call at 888-365-9488 and we’d be happy to chat.

Fabulous day trip from Seattle

Judy, September 6, 2019

We booked a last minute trip as we had a stopover in Seattle. Michal was extremely prompt in replying to my emails. He collected our group from the hotel even though we were not staying downtown. We had a fantastic tour despite the weather being inclement, and Michael made sure that we saw as much as was possible. I would highly recommend him.

Nature Nuts Travel provided excellent services for our team members visiting from Japan.  They also arranged for a Japanese tour guide that was very helpful and enjoyable to be around.  We highly recommend their services and thank them for the attention to detail put into our daily agendas.
