We know what it’s like to be in unfamiliar places and have to trust local tour companies.
With this in mind, we’ve created the following principles to guide our business.

We treat our guests like we would hope to be treated when we travel.

We won’t create or sell any tour to our guests that we wouldn’t love to take.

Guest experience above all else. Anything not good for our guests, is not good for us.

You’re #1. We’ll be flexible and inconvenience ourselves to improve customer service.

We choose our guides for their passion and in-depth knowledge of the Pacific Northwest. Our guides are subject matter experts and are skilled at sharing that knowledge with our guests. Our guides undergo training to the National Association for Interpretation’s standards. They also receive receive extensive driving and safety training. Every guide is a certified Wilderness First Responder too. No matter which guide leads your tour, we know you’ll feel like longtime friends by the end of the day.

I’ve pursued travel and adventure for the last 20 years. After studying in Japan at age 16, I attended Occidental College, where I graduated first in my class. I started my career as a tourism consultant and then served as Director of Development Planning for IHG. I’ve authored dozens of hotel and resort feasibility studies as well as tourism master plans.

In 2015, I founded Nature Nuts Adventure Travel to realize my vision for travel and adventure tourism. I’m a National Outdoor Leadership School graduate, IATA Tourism & Travel Consultant, Leave No Trace Trainer, Wilderness First Responder, National Association for Interpretation Certified Guide, Divemaster, and I’m Level 1 certified by the American Institute for Avalanche Research & Education.

Born in the Pacific Northwest, I love the outdoors and I’m a devoted student of Mother Nature’s teachings. Since childhood, I’ve loved identifying and connecting with native plants, finding ways to incorporate indigenous knowledge into my daily life, and connecting to the land I was brought up on. I’ve got an eclectic background in circus, dance, nutrition and exercise science. I graduated from Washington State University with a degree in Anthropology and Environmental Science.

I’ve taught environmental science developed curriculums for schools field trips. I’ve guided hiking, climbing, snowshoeing and paddling trips for organizations throughout the Northwest. I joined Nature Nuts to share my passion for the environment and for lifelong learning. I’m a Wilderness First Responder, PSUPA Stand-Up Paddle Boarding Instructor, and a Certified Yoga Teacher.

The outdoors and adventure have been a lifelong passion. An obsession with birds and wildlife led to a Zoology degree from Texas A&M University. As an avid hiker and birdwatcher, I’ve traveled the world seeking out new species. I got a taste for the tourism industry as an aviculturist at the San Antonio Zoo. I’ve worked in environmental education for the past 13 years, 4 of which as a Bird and Nature Tour Leader in South Texas. I’m a Wilderness First Responder and birding guide sponsored by Vortex Optics.

I fell in love with the Pacific Northwest while living on Whidbey Island for 3 years. I love being a tour leader because no two tours are alike, and I’m always as excited as my clients are to see what the day will bring!

I come from a background in environmental science and STEM education. I moved to Seattle from North Carolina in 2016 to get closer to the mountains, ocean, and even the rain! My drive to experience different ecosystems on the land and underwater led me to field research in Costa Rica, the Virgin Islands, Belize, Mexico, and the Galapagos Islands.

I was the Youth and Family Programs Supervisor at Seattle’s Pacic Science Center, where I managed a team of 140 to coordinate field trip logistics and youth educational programs. I studied environmental science with a focus on ecology and marine science. I am certified First Aid/CPR Instructor, a National Association for Interpretation Certified Interpretive Guide, PADI Rescue Diver and a Wilderness First Responder. I’m eager to share the Puget Sound region’s incredible experiences with our guests!
